  • Stat of season, Chicken thief of the Epl - Interceptions!

This is one stat that we need to keep in Jamaica to find a superior defensive mid and just excellent defensive minded players, we cannot measure effectiveness well in this position across players in an objective manner and this stat helps shine a light on one side of effectiveness in this position as well as others.

Ngolo Kante plays central mid and is cut out to play dm, has 103 interceptions for Gritty Lesta City, that is 17 more than the next best person and 20 more than the third place person. That is 20% better than 2nd place and 25% better than third, that just may be the biggest margin of superior performance in the EPL and is one of the hidden stats that you just don't follow which clearly reveals effectiveness especially in a central midfield player and most so in a defensive mid player, he also tops the EPL in successful tackles at 75, that is three successful tackles per game and four takeaways per game, that is a massive advantage to have to spring any attack. Here is what Ranieri says about Monsieur Kante.

"He is fantastic because he reads the situation very well," said Ranieri. "He attracts the ball. He is very smart and very fast in his movement. He can be a favourite, not only for the fans but also for his teammates. When we all watch the video of him chasing the ball everybody says wow!!""

    Unsung? Remember Makalele?

Yeah, actually Ranieri coached Makalele as well and in that article that I got the quote he mentioned that makelale like Kante was originally a winger as well but upon coming into central mid and dm they really flourished with their predator/protective psyche combined with their unusual skill set.

He should be a Man U player!
The plan is to make that position Mensah's,we need a top shelf defender and a worthy offensive mid before..,he will do nicely in CD for now.

Back to Kante,he is truly special!

Yeah man, we have nuff player in Jamaica that can play that role, but we can't seem to find the ones that willing to work super hard alll game like Kante. Guess what nuff ah dem man play in Dacosta cup, town man waan play pure prettyball and do the least amount of work and is dem get all the calls for selection. Our player ID process and psychological profile ID is out of kilter.

Well, Peter: Remember that on the ideal TEAM each out field player can play each position very well?!

Those players shall be, blinding fast (=across ground and 'fast feet'), superior on skill (=technical ability) and sense/logical thinking (=tactical ability)!

Goal scoring is a talent. You cannot and should not expect your defender to be able to score 20+ goals per season. Arsenal lacks such a striker and have for a while ... Ever since we sold can Persie .

Players can 'fill in' for various positions but that is stop gap. Shoot we could probably put Giroud I. Goal but why should we expect him to do it from time to time?
