FIFA presidential candidate and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa made a brief visit to Jamaica as part of his campaign for the FIFA presidency due to be determined at a FIFA congress set for the end of February (26th).

The candidate and his team had dinner on Tuesday night with Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) President Captain Horace Burrell and members of the JFF executive before flying on to Antigua the following morning.

“I don’t believe what is happening in the rest of the world is FIFA’s mistake. We can’t blame FIFA for all that happens in football in the rest of the world,” the Bahraini told Reuters in an interview.
In total, 41 individuals and entities have been charged in the United States in a corruption sweep that has rocked soccer worldwide and sent FIFA into an unprecedented crisis.
