  • Who agrees with this guy?

I posted this in another thread but began to think about it in the context of the management upheaval at LFC and Chelsea, and in light of the pitch fork brigade currently grumbling at Manu**.

    Snippet:
Truly, the only “plastic” fans are people who bounce around between clubs based off success or only start supporting a club because they became strong
We all know who fits this profile. LOL!!

    Snippet:
If a big club is going through a prolonged spell of mediocrity, naturally many who support the club will become fed up with various issues and naturally will want or require a change. If they still remain loyal to that club, but just want answers or something new and fresh, then their heart remains true. Some take it too far and will switch allegiances to another club, and in such a case, clearly never truly supported the club at all.

Is Manu going through a period of mediocrity?

These are false beliefs that are strongly held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary and that are generally not shared by others in the individual's cultural context. Unlike the delusional person, when strongly presented with clear evidence contrary to the lies told, the pathological liar may acknowledge, at least in part, the falsehood of his or her stories or more often, change stories. Although controversial, it is worth noting that some have suggested that pathological liars may believe their lies to such an extent that the beliefs appear delusional.

You moved to could have said it , now you are back to he said it, which one is it ?

“If you can’t support us when we lose or draw, don’t support us when we win,” reads a quote attributed to the founding father of the modern Anfield, his image emblazoned on a montage on the club’s official Facebook page.
Over three million supporters have read it, many heartily agreeing.
There is only one problem. Despite extensive research, there is no evidence Shankly ever said it

          http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...his-worth.html

You dont find it odd , the Fergueson of his time who had the media hanging onto his everyword cannot be cited for the above quote, it comes about in 2011 on facebook ? ....and yuh nuh shame fi a promote it.The fact that you cant find the source , other more reputable journalist cant find the source , should give you cause to pause, but no not you , WHY ?

So is dat all you gat??? LOL!!! Your entire basis of me being a liar is on this one quote??????????? LOL!!! Woooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeee............... .MI CLAVICLE!!!!

Anyway - dude, you are definitely in the twilight zone...try wallowing in reality for a while. While not only me, but nuff people attribute that quote to Shanks, the FACT IS that you (or Bascombe) can't prove that he DIDN'T say it, but even so, the essence of the quote is LOYALTY...something you know nothing of. FACT. Now, wheel an' tun. Try fin' a lie. I dare you. Dyam two face.

Let me start by stating: You are are ignoramus of monumental proportions... but hey, at least you excel at something... big up yuhself!

I pointed out to you before how asinine and childish you are to pursue this "lying thing" about the Shankly quote. If it is indeed a lie, then there a millions of people who are liars, or whom have been lied to, by virtue of the overwhelming acceptance of the quote as being said by Shankly. It has been accepted as such and it enters the realm of perception being reality, even "deception" (if you believe that he didn't say it) being reality.

Don't feel seh a you one know how fi google. I linked a site that showed a bout eighteen well known quotes attributed to quotable people to explain this phenomenon. The primary reason a quote (that a person never really uttered ) becomes believable and therefore takes root among the rank and file and even the elite, is that it usually reflects the philosophy of the person to whom it is attributed. The quote often succinctly captures the essence of the individual's weltanschauung.

I explained this before I then pointedly asked you whether Shankly would agree or disagree with the quote whether or not he had said it. You came back with some mangled text that even my "bat translator" overheated while trying to sift the wheat from the chaff... (a bear chaff doh). At least this gentleman explains rationally his position on whether the quote in question is worthy of consideration.

Now you sir, are guilty of being a wagonist and if we are to take the view of a neutral observer, i.e. the author of this piece linked by Paul, you are a wagonist and never were true supporter. You claimed to have only "separated" from your "wife", but you BLATANTLY jumped into bed with the powder-hued harlot...and yu expeck wife fi tek yu back?? it's one thing to separate to re-assess one's position vis a vis the relationship, BUT to say yu gone bed-hopping is a whole other ball game...

So in ending I'll leave you with this quote that Bill Shankly actually said:

"If you cannot support us when we lose or draw, do not support us when we win wagonist"

LOL!!! Well said Pedro. I think this quote succinctly captures the essence of X's weltanschauung:

In other words it's a lie you chose to promote, even in the face of incontrovertible evidence,it cannot be cited to Shankly in academia.

Food for thought, the Liverpool echo was started in 1870s,Bascombe worked there for 7 years, the quote can't be found on Shanklys official website, such an important quote that has so much relevance in sports, not just football.

It's amusing to me your defence,it only withers away at your credibility.Others have been killed for voicing the truth being called names is the least.

Whether he in fact said it or did not say it is inconclusive, however, even if he did not, to answer your question directly, because I have balls unlike some people, yes, I choose to embrace it as I believe it embodies the spirit and essence of what the man stood for.

However you want to couch it, as a lie, that's your prerogative. I know that it galls you because you violated the principle of LOYALTY which is unequivocally wound into the fibre of that quote; LOYALTY to the club which Paul CLEARLY laid out for you in another Shankly quote which is verifiable!

So you can continue to characterise me as a liar for believing IN THE QUOTE and what it represents; my conscience is quite clear as I NEVER JUMPED SHIP like a horny, drunken sailor to run after some sketel in a powder-blue skirt. You have to live with that, and if you think that by categorising me (and Paul) as liar(s) will somehow absolve you of that sin, it won't. It might be your way of appeasing your own conscience as you have to live with yourself after all, so I don't mind... I hate to sidekick a man when he is down.

Again I will leave you with the REAL quote that Shankly said: "If you don't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win Wagonist!"
