  • Here's another reason why I keep saying

that Jamaican clubs should seek partnerships with MLS clubs (even USL & NASL clubs) to get the necessary help to develop their youth players, as well as coaches & trainers.

Whose responsibility to pursue such an endeavour would it be? Local clubs? or the JFF?

See Carmelo Anthony has a NASL team in Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico FC), and they start playing next year.

*Rayo Vallecano (La Liga) also has a NASL team in Oklahoma City (Rayo OKC), which starts play next year.

              Ok.

What is the purpose of the JFF?

Actually, I just visited the website and got this..http://www.jamaicafootballfederation.../?page_id=5991

The vision is: By 2022 Jamaica’s Football will have achieved international success and recognition, facilitated by a financially strong and stable Jamaica Football Federation.

Very wishy washy as who knows first, what is "Jamaica's Football " is. Second, how are "success and recognition" measured?

The mission is:To facilitate Jamaica’s football success by providing development, regulatory, affiliation and accreditation services to affiliates and entertainment to the general public.

What development services are being provided? "regulatory, affiliation and accreditation" services as far as I understand is just the bureaucratic paperwork etc. that any well-trained secretary will take care of. Where is tangible evidence of the development part of their mission?

Okay fair enough; the JFF should develop talent. Say the JFF goes borrow money (to pay a big Int'L youth coaches) develop twelve ballas who were then signed to various clubs at age 18 (won u17 WC) How does the JFF get more money and cover the loan that they borrowed? Who Bayern, Inter pay to? The local clubs or JFF?

And some also own European soccer teams - Erick Thohir (DC United) owns Inter Milan; Stan Kroenke (Colorado Rapids) owns Arsenal; Vincent Tan (LAFC) owns Cardiff City; Larry Berg and Bennett Rosenthal (LAFC) own Roma; Ruben Emir Gnanalingam (LAFC) owns Queens Park Rangers and Joey Saputo (Montreal Impact) owns Bologna.......There was also talk that the Glazer brothers (Manchester United) had approached Beckham about a partnership and Fenway Sports (Liverpool) wanted to buy into New England Revolution & help with moving the team to Boston.

The Jamaicans better get in now, because I see more MLS teams focused on scouting & signing young players from South America (especially Argentina, Colombia & Brazil), Central America, and Europe, as well as establishing partnerships in Europe & South America.

The partnerships would be very helpful. Granted the production of most U.S. programs are not really anything to talk about compared to the typical country, but still ahead of us in approach especially since parishes outside of St James, KSA, St Catherine and Clarendon don't do much with the youth at the club level.

Some of the partnership with US youth clubs are very good but some of it is just rip off as far as I see it. Some of it is just plainly to sell Jerseys to the teams and to attract kids to the teams.

Again there are some good ones but not all. Some are straight up money making thing. You would think some of these big teams would at least provide some camps, or invite players to the home club, or at least send their scouts to US teams but in some cases none of that goes on.

Can't deny that the US soccer is growing bigtime. Here in the ATL it is growing bigtime, nuff teams.
