Tottenham agree fee for striker Bent
Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to pay Charlton Athletic £16.5million for England striker Darren Ben, according to reports.

The two clubs have been wrangling over the transfer fee for the past two weeks.
Bent, who scored 15 goals last season, turned down a £17m switch to West Ham United and Charlton were holding out for a similar offer from Spurs after their initial bid of £13m.
Having increased the offer Bent, who was always likely to move on after Charlton's relegation from the Premiership last term, is now expected to have a medical at White Hart Lane on Friday before signing a lucrative contract with Spurs.
Bent scored 37 goals in his two seasons at The Valley - he reached double figures in the last campaign despite knee problems - which earned him two England caps and made it virtually impossible for Addicks manager Alan Pardew to keep him in the Championship.
He bolsters a Spurs attack that scored more than 60 goals last season, and that was without Mido who is expected to leave White Hart Lane.
Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane were Jol's first choice for the big games, with Jermain Defoe adding 18 goals as the third striker.
The form of Berbatov and Keane means Bent would start at least third choice, while Defoe's chances of first-team opportunities are even less clear.
Jol plans to compete in all cup competitions as well as push Arsenal for a Champions League place, and he spoke last season of the need for four strikers.
Charlton brought Chris Iwelumo and Luke Varney to The Valley in preparation for Bent's departure.
Spurs, meanwhile, have been linked with Auxerre's Younes Kaboul since the end of the season.
Kaboul's agent, Rudy Raba said. 'We will see what happens in the next couple of days.
'I hope that everything will happen before the start of pre-season.'
