Mourinho doesn't know what slavery means, says Thuram

France defender Lilian Thuram criticised on Sunday Jose Mourinho's use of the word slave to describe team mate Claude Makelele's situation in the French squad.

France coach Raymond Domenech called up Makelele for Euro 2008 qualifiers despite the midfielder's stated intention to retire from international soccer. Makelele's outspoken Chelsea manager likened his treatment to slavery, saying it was a denial of human rights.

"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."

Very interesting bit of info. I gather then, that a player may express his desire to retire but if he is playing professionally then his country has the right to call him for international game(s).

So Andy Williams hasn't really retired; he is playing possum until Carl Brown gives him the shout. The same would go for Marlon King and that situation bodes well for the Boyz.

As for Mourinho, loose and cannon should be placed in the same sentence.
