Peter - a prediction of your team losing is fine as long as there is no benefit to you, including, "being right". This is why true fans don't bet against their team, but they may harbour nervous feelings of a pending loss, and may express that (e.g. in a poll), however, they WANT to be wrong! So if you derive some peculiar satisfaction, e.g. your ego being more important than the team, then that is not being a genuine fan. If you bet money against your team, then you are not a genuine fan (unless you are happier losing the money than winning it). If you run to a next team and then decide to come back when you see they could win something - you are not a genuine fan. Genuine fans put their team above all, and their satisfaction comes from the sheer joy of being a supporter of that team...not from anything else. But don't xpect sunshiners to understand that.
