the Nicaraguan TEAM into the game by giving them the ball often to build their confidence.
Two things:
- Nicaragua is more comfortable on the ball...greater technical skills coupled with more sensible (tactical) play.
They pass to each other...often...and often with God by the side of their man. They are passing and moving beatifully. They play football.
- There is no one on our TEAM that has so far shown commonsense.
No one has noticed that the surface allows the ball to sit up for good technique on shooting from on or about the penalty-area.
- Mattocks and Brown are quick. They need balls on the ground either side of them straight on goal...or diagonal balls between the center-backs....yes, to run onto.
We need to cut down on the balls over the top..those balls are not safe passes. They are balls that give an opponent too great percentage to win same. They must be used as surprise weapon. Not a sure "JA is only kicking it long", there players are predictable and dumb.
Where is/are our player or players to 'lick' sense into the others.
Can that person or those persons not observe the problems set and present solutions to TEAMmates?
God has been on our side as we are being easily contained and easily attacked.
Need it be said? Nicaragua could have had 2. ...and that would be that.
