  • Maybe it is just me..

..but my only concern regarding the game on Tuesday is the artificial turf.
We are expected to win, that guarantees a margin of (at least)one goal,Nicaragua pales in comparison to teams that we are marginally(by a goal) better than, ergo that second goal should be expected.
We fi beat dem by 4 goals.

      'fraid a dat surface tuh!
We may win the war and come away losing the battle (serious injuries ruin our future prospects).

I have refereed on that surface in the Bronx (Evander Child's High School surface back in the days --- 1980s?) and I came away after my first game with hurting knees. Learnt that making a sharp turn to right or left or 'one-eighty' required different skill sets than doing so on grass surface. Do not pivot with foot anchored...lift and take series of steps...more work and greater effort if I wished to remain injury free. ...and it was tough making that transition to never doing the previous instinctive reflex turn...always forgot at some point in a match. After a few matches I gave up on going there to officiate. Risk of injury was just too great. Not worth the effort.

          Can't believe FIFA allows this.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

same thing I'm mulling. if FIFA decided that playing in la paz was an unfair advantage...what would this be?

another argument altogether is how old is this astrotruf...

They're not the only country in the region to do it.

Costa Rica has been hosting games for years on artificial grass at Saprissa Stadium.

Not sure...but they must have improved the product...so my age suggests it is an old form!
