Dat Usain is a global icon (including in Brazil + im love ball cyaan dun) :

Football exec wants sprinter to be bestowed with nation’s fourth-highest honour
    Tuesday, September 01, 2015

BOLT... won three gold medals at Beijing World Championships.

CAPTAIN Horace Burrell, president of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), is asking for the Order of Merit (OM), the nation’s fourthhighest honour, to be bestowed on athletics legend Usain St Leo Bolt following the sprinter’s exploits at the recently concluded Beijing World Championships in China.

The call was made yesterday at the launch of the 2015-2016 Red Stripe Premier League competition at the JFF headquarters in New Kingston.

And, at the same time, former prime minister and current chairman of the Premier League Clubs Asociation (PLCA) Edward Seaga has called for the athletics team to be officiallly recognised as being a Brand Jamaica.

“Let me pause here to recognise the tremendous performances over there in Beijing by Jamaican athletes,” said Captain Burrell, as he addressed stakeholders in his opening remarks.

...This is, Cappo...your friendly, neighborhood visionary advising on how to extract maximum leverage from this very fortunate confluence of events (assuming your JFF is genuinely interested in developing our yutes ) :

The Grand Brazil Bargain: How Track can power Football

Football Out of the Box Thinking XV1...

So Jamaica has a PM who's so interested in sport... she's taken portfolio responsibility for it ...well let's use that to our advantage

Madame PM...of the 2 major sports football & track... one flourishes while the other flounders. Time to convert this football crisis to an opportunity

    1. Sista P get the heads of the JFF and the JAAA together in a room and have them agree to a cooperative relationship

    2. Propose to Dilma, your Brazilian counterpart, a mutually beneficial sporting partnership... Jamaica will assist Brazil in a 10 year transfer program of our world class sprinting knowledge to Brazil in exchange for a similar transfer to Jamaica of Brazil's world class football expertise

3.Jamaica will commit to sending & maintaining say 12-20 certified track coaches to Brazil to work with schools/clubs/national team programs over the program period (on a rotating basis) ..along with scholarships for Brazilian track coaches to study at GC Foster/UTECH High Performance Center.

Brazil commits to sending an equivalent number of football trainers to support a proposed youth academy and JFF structured youth development programs... along with an equivalent number of scholarships to Brazilian football institutions for Jamaicans

    4. Brazil can pick up more of any financial outlay...given the obvious JA limitations. Sponsors of Jamaican track Puma/Grace/Digicel etc can join a PR effort in Jamaica & Brazil to promote the project...along with their athletes. Brazil to do the same

    5. After a few years of this cooperation both JA football and Brazilian track will improve... a big win-win scenario. Brazil going into the Rio Olympics (now null) should be VERY receptive and Jamaica can rid itself of the Snow Balla mania

Without vision...the people shall continue to perish

Plagiarism? ...or just a repeat/emphasizing of what has

has been posted here, ad nauseam, since the early 2000s?

Some have suggested Brazil, others Holland, Mexico, etc. Others have even suggested the USA.

...and yes a few misguided souls have as suggested by Don1 a 'dispensing with a proper senior team program'. That failure to recognize the many fronts on which such a senior team program benefits both immediately and over the long haul is appalling for lack of understanding of our football currency and its value to our country.

I'm not aware of ANYBODY who has suggested leveraging our track expertise to assist football development...in this remarkably innovative fashion. This takes high order 3-D reasoning abilities not possessed by many.

D1 doesn't review prior posts to formulate ideas

Therefore your suggestion of plagiarism is quite impertinent and offensive

With all due respect, D1s proposal is a lot easier to read. I do remember this proposal from way back then though... the focus was on "The Academy".

Our problem is that the so called leaders are happy to draw their stipends and do just enough to keep the (football) programme going. As for the T&F people, all I can do is

I know! I shall try again.

I have also been trying on and off for sometime to find "Perpetual Renewal" and "The Bitter Seed". What was the by-line used on each and what was the name under which each was written?
                Thanks!

What is it that is different from pointing to the successes of T&F and suggesting the JFF apes its spread of its education processes and coverage of the island with increasingly more competent coaches, T&F professionals and organisations as the years go on?

Note the JAAA's education process has spawned commercial entities such as MVP, Races and others!!!! ...and ever more successful athletes (players=individual athletes and TEAMs)!!!

First with first hand knowledge of both back in the days - The T&F people - JAAA - took a deliberate approach to use the vast network of schools as vehicle for athletes development (Work at the colleges was mostly centered around training the college students to be future administrators and coaches).

So the aim was improve the coaching expertise, add a few development meets and international regional meets [First travels (1966???) I remember is a trip to the Eastern Caribbean - Barbados and Trinidad ...not too sure but Guyana may have been in the mix. The top sprinters were Ali McNabb, Delroy Wallace, Jimmy Grant, Anthony Attride (...and I think, Michael Fray)...and Donald Quarrie and Horace Levy from Class 11.] The idea was to improve...improve...improve!!! The main field events tackled were the jumps.

The JAAA brought in experts in the area of administration, officiating and coaching to upgrade professionalism.

That is the same thing suggested time and again for football. ...but the football people - JFF - yet to attempt same.

Second on football - The language may change but the refrain is the same -
YOUTH DEVEOPMENT - Use all the already available resources - schools and their physical plants and human resources; those who currently 'mess around at coaching' - update skills at teaching/coaching to top international credible levels, institute and upgrade at clubs - teaching/coaching, administration & international associations (clubs, nations) and also interaction among club teams and quality international clubs on the field.

                          - Institute top quality INTERNATIONAL SQUADS and naturally TEAMs=male & female...age-groups through to seniors!

Do it in a professional manner...do it well!

That is it!!! Matters not the fancy words...it is the same basic underpinnings being spoken of from 2000 to present on this site!!! The different words...articles and posts are numerous!!! ...and it is important it continues to be spoken of and The JFF be entreated to get going FORWARD! ...when The JFF finally gets going then we can go into the 'weeds'!!!

I'm not saying that the JFF should ape track... you're misdirected

I'm saying that the JFF can LEVERAGE the global success of our track program to gain the huge amounts of foreign expertise needed to transform our football...affordably. Then we can wean ourselves off the import madness

Stay on track with what I'm advocating please. It's annoying when you misrepresent my views
