Details will vary, the big picture IMO, is that clubs will try to wear down a player who wants to leave, a player they would like to keep. I haven't followed De Gea's situation so I can't make a proper comment on his particular situation.

For this I blame Woodward .. and possibly LvG. Why did they allow DeGea's contract to run into the last year? They should have played him against Club Brugge and cup tie him for the UCL.

And thereby dropping his value by untold millions...why would you do that????? Now I understand that keeping him to the end of his contract and letting him go on a free would work if he was the difference maker in Manu** getting back to the champions league...if they failed to get back to the champions league however, then that gamble would be seen as incredibly irresponsible or stupid. But if they did make it back, it would be hailed as "pure genius" because the $ from the UCL qualification would far outweigh the $ from selling the keeper. But he didn't play him against Brugge did he? Therefore, this should tell you that LvG is either less confident in De Gea to be the difference maker, or worse (for you and yours), less confident that top 4 is a foregone conclusion.

He may very well do that,my guess is the keeper will take the fine though.There is trouble in the house but LvG seems quite capable of imposing his will.I think RM will be mindful of future transfers when dealing with the deGea matter,LvG may very well have the last laugh.

The last laugh how? RM is paying him 5 million not to sign the contract being offered by MU.

I think a deal will be ironed out,deGea will leave and RM will make sure Man U is compensated(they will not go the free transfer route)so as maintain the good relationship between both clubs.

Maybe deGea would have the goal Carrick scored(lol)but so far,not firlding the kepper is without consequences.This are really bad between the jeeper and LvG,I think there is a undisclosed agreement between Madrid and Man U,or surely LvG would have fielded the keeper.whether he leaves before or after the season has ended is the question,preparing for life after deGea is rightly prioritized by the manager though.

RM is not in the Premier League, so LvG is not going to think of the positive/negative impact to them. He will only be thinking (and correctly so) of the impact on Manu**. To me, cup-tying the keeper makes no sense other than spite...but hey, the more chupid financial decisions y'all make, the better.
