Members of FIFA’s executive committee who picked Russia and Qatar to stage the 2018 and 2022 World Cups risk being sacked unless they tell the truth about the controversial ballots as part of a new internal investigation.
FIFA have hired US law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan (QE) to probe whether or not one or both of the tournaments was awarded because of bribery and corruption. If so the venues could yet be changed, although time is running out.
