FIFA hits back at football spending critic

Paris: FIFA`s outgoing leadership hit back Thursday at criticism of its spending on poorer football nations by one of the potential candidates to head the world body.

Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, a former FIFA vice president considering a run to replace Sepp Blatter as president told AFP in an interview this week that the global body should be spending "a hell of a lot more" on football development.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Football's world governing body announced this week that Dr Francois Carrard, a respected Swiss lawyer and former director general of the International Olympic Committee, is to head up its independent reform committee.

Nothing wrong with that – Carrard is independent and he has an unblemished record.

"There's a vacuum in leadership with respect to Caribbean football," he said in a recent interview. "What we need to do is make a serious investment in our potential by bringing the correct leadership regionally and globally to take the Caribbean forward.

"We need to shift the paradigm, shift FIFA away from that Euro-centric look and bring the Caribbean at the table."
