in Miami concerning Beckham's MLS franchise???.......I don't know why his group is so adamant about having this franchise in Miami. They're going to mess around & loose out on that $25M deal that MLS gave them, and could still end up not getting a stadium deal.......Miami is a JOKE & a @#$&*%@ CIRCUS, go check out San Diego. There's a strong soccer community & following there.

Money making???......Have you any idea what happened between Loria & the Miami government or read the article???

Loria convinced Miami to foot the BULK of the cost for the stadium and infrastructure & stuck them with a $2 billion bill, plus they gave him TOTAL power & control over the Marlins stadium that they built, the large parking garage they built & pretty much the entire area......Miami isn't getting the revenue they expected from the Marlins, and corporations are reluctant to partner with Loria.

I am sure you read about what took place before the construction of the new Atlanta stadium . Even some churches ( and the pastors) were paid off........

In the end it's tax payers who are left holding the $*****ty end of the stick. "It not personal...it's only business".

So what's happening is that because of Miami's ignorance & stupidity they have given the POWER to Loria........The mayor & city council has pre-approved the site for Beckham's group, BUT Loria can torpedo that, because of the control the govt gave him, which includes stopping Team Becks from selling the naming rights to their own stadium (lost revenue) & having to buy parking from Loria (from a city built & owned parking garage) at premium rate.

1. Team Becks will use their money to build a stadium, headquarters & training facilities.
2. Govt has pre-approved the stadium location.

3. Loria, owner of the Marlins, can disrupt the stadium plan, even with full govt approval.

HL is correct deals are there to be brokered...but if you are correct on facts of that 'Lor...whatever is his name'. It seems he had very good friends on the other side of the table? Perhaps Becks thinks he can blow the lid off of...?
