GEORGIA, USA — Head Coach Winfried Schaefer could hardly contain himself when the final whistle went in Jamaica's history-making win over the USA at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Wednesday.

The Boyz had clipped the hosts 2-1 in the semi-final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, making history by defeating the North Americans for first time on home soil and, at the same time, reaching their first Gold Cup final.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

GEORGIA, USA — Giles Barnes continued his goalscoring heroics for Jamaica when he put the icing on the cake to boot the USA out of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Houston Dynamo man gave his Reggae Boyz a sumptuous 2-0 lead with a piece of art, curling a right-footed free kick from 20 yards past USA goalie Brad Guzan in the 36th minute.

GEORGIA, USA — Garath McCleary did not get on the scoresheet this time. Still, he revels in Jamaica's moment of glory after defeating the USA 2-1 in the CONCACAF Gold Cup as if he had struck the killer blow.

But he was a proud co-conspirator in the historic achievement as he was an ever-present danger operating on the right-side of midfield, often cutting inside with his pace and skill.

Georgia, USA — Men of adventure and daring often do what they do because ultimately they want their exploits to be documented for time immemorial.

In every field of endeavour, the leading exponents want their piece of history. But making history, it seems, is not always a pursued goal. In some cases, a moment of history is created out of an innocent act.

Georgia, USA — When Jermaine Taylor picked up his tournament-ending injury in the group game against El Salvador in Toronto, Michael Hector's time had come to shine at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

And he has grasped the opportunity with both hands.

Hector, with his partner in the heart of defence, Liecester City's Wes Morgan, have kept the backline closed up for the most part.

            ATLANTA, Georgia:

THE Boyz have really come of age. That's one of the clearest signals from Jamaica's historic 2-1 semi-final win over the United States of America (USA) in their CONCACAF Gold Cup encounter at the Georgia Dome on Wednesday night.

The victory was Jamaica's first against the US on American soil and made them the first Caribbean team to qualify for the final of the Gold Cup, the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean championship in its 13th staging.

Reggae Boy Garath McCleary says big teams in world football should take note of Jamaica's historic win over the United States at the Georgia Dome.

The Jamaicans beat the United States of America (USA) for the first time, winning 2-1 in the CONCACAF Gold Cup football semi-final on Wednesday to qualify for the final for the first time.

                ATLANTA, Georgia:

WINFRIED Schäfer had credited his team's unity on and off the pitch for most of what they have achieved at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, following their historic 2-1 win over the United States in Wednesday night's semi-final.

"Our plus is team work and team spirit, and I hope we'll continue to do the same in Philadelphia," he admitted.

                  ATLANTA, Georgia:

The measure of any good team is its strength off the bench.

Having earned a chance through the misfortune of a teammate when Jermaine Taylor got injured at the seventh minute of their group contest against El Salvador in Toronto, Michael Hector is proving that to be true.

The towering central defender was a man-mountain in Jamaica's historic Gold Cup semi-final 2-1 win over the United States on Wednesday. It was the Reggae Boyz's first win over the United States on American soil, thus becoming the first Caribbean team to do so since Haiti at San Diego in 1969.
