teams are quietly signing young players from South America, Central America & Africa.......What is helping this move is the partnership between MLS & USL. MLS teams are forming "reserve" teams that compete in the USL (Houston & Philly announced this week they will be the next to do that) & this solves a problem that was there after academy soccer (U18). MLS teams are moving away from affiliations with existing USL clubs, as they have no control over the players coaching/training & diet when loaned out, especially at that stage of their development.
I'll say it again - I think Jamaican clubs should seek to form partnerships with MLS clubs to help with the development & growth of players & coaches.
