Don't understand why you would want the team to play conservatively/playing for a draw; using the wings as your primary attack, which opened holes in defense with the defensive backs continually overlapping; not starting Rubin & using Jameson as the lone striker......The team looked flat, confused & sluggish.

Well!!! We're now in the knockout phase so we'll see what happens.

As I said the US get a real soft zone with Myanmar (thanks Gamma) and New Zealand.

Haven't seen it but it was their first real game.

Argentina got eliminated!!!......So many "experts" had them as one of the favorites to win it all.

Thought so too, BUT if you've been following you'll see some "crazy" & unexpected results.....Don't forget that Myanmar finished ahead of perennial Asian soccer powerhouses Japan, South Korea & Australia......No team can be taken lightly.
- Honduras was defeated 3-0 by Fiji (who have been dominated by New Zealand).
- Argentina (the CONMEBOL champions & one of the favorites) is out. Didn't win any games; drew with Panama who's at the bottom of the group.
- Uruguay could be eliminated, as all 4 teams in their group are on 3 points, with Mexico (the CONCACAF champions) at the bottom.
- Nigeria (the CAF champions) could be eliminated, as they are 3rd in their group.

The games not going as many thought they would.......Mexico is out!!! Uruguay & Mali finished tied, for 2nd, in every category (W, D, L, GF, GA, GD & Pts). Both advanced.......Fiji has a good chance to advance ahead of Honduras.......Nigeria, CAF champions, is fighting for survival.......Senegal, 2nd in CAF championships, is waiting on results from other group games to see if they will advance.......Ghana won Group B to advance, with Austria 2nd, and highly favored Argentina out.
