SEOUL: South Korea's Chung Mong-joon, a former FIFA vice president and powerbroker of Asian football, said on Wednesday (Jun 3) he was considering entering the race to replace Sepp Blatter as president of world football's governing body.

Chung, a billionaire scion of Korea's Hyundai group, was a long-time critic of Blatter and had hinted at a challenge for the presidency before losing his own position on the FIFA executive board to Prince Ali bin al Hussein of Jordan in 2011.

Addressing a press conference in Seoul, Chung said he would decide on whether to run "after meeting with prominent figures in international football and listening to their opinions".

Chung joins an unofficial shortlist of possible candidates to replace Blatter that includes the likes of UEFA president Michel Platini and Chung's former rival Prince Ali, as well as football greats like Brazil's Zico and Portugal's Luis Figo.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Indian-American could be in race for new FIFA chief

Washington: Indian American Sunil Gulati, who is currently serving a record third term as President of the US Soccer Federation, could be in the race to replace Sepp Blatter as the new FIFA chief.

Various US media outlets said Allahabad-born Gulati, 55, who has played a key role in the development of soccer in the United States in the past few decades, could be a potentially strong contender to replace Blatter, should the US have an interest in the position of FIFA chief.

The debate has begun as to who should succeed Sepp Blatter as Fifa president.
It is stating the obvious to say it needs someone untainted by his toxic regime and with the determination to scrub this house clean, weed out his cronies โ€“ as much as possible โ€“ and not only win back public support but also keep Fifa united.

Lets face it ,the next election will be about what can you do for my association,it wont be in the past form of monetary bribes but solid development in football infrastructure.

Its not a time for concacaf to cower , but unite and move forward in transparency.
