Even a few years ago when mi went to England some 40 and 50 year old blacks will not go to games, and will not travel on trains that the holigans coming from games travel on.

That was my biggest problem with Liverpool for years. Of all the big 4 English clubs - Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal and Chelsea - Liverpool was the last to embrace black talent.

          Lindy Lindbergh is Lindy Delapenha.
WHelan was signed by ManU in 68 but he never played a competitive match at senior level for the club I'm reading. I was very surprised at how recent (in general) black players made the breakthrough in England. When I was a student in France in 1977-78 there were a number of black players (African) who played in the Ligue 1 or whatever is was back then. Of course, Marius Tresor was their world cup captain in '78. He is Guadeloupean.

There seems to be a clear pattern of not blaming BR for anything.
If the demigod BR(that pattern of being beyond reproach)made errors(flawed strategy, wrong starting team selections, fielding players out of position),then that could have been what denied Pool of a CL berth. Not playing CL football is the sticking point for Sterling.
Maybe you misunderstood my qustion, maybe it was just another rubber stamped reply to BR' issues, are you still saying there isn't anything BR could have done better?
