You have players(Falcao,Mata etc) that depend on their supporting cast and players that are able to give a good account of themselves despite their supporting cast(Tevez,RvP,Suarez etc).Fielding Raheem with a poor supporting cast is his fault only if he gets to pick his teammates,Sturridge has no such dependency but even he was missing a step or two despite his abilities,it proved more consequential regarding Ballo.

Rockman - what is BR "blameworthy" for? Fifth place? Sixth? I don't disagree that he made mistakes, but who doesn't? Every manager makes mistakes! When Rafa went on his rant - was that a mistake? When Slurgie nearly kickoff Beckham face, was that a mistake? The one thing I have learned in all the years I've followed football, is that writing of a manager before first looking at the ownership is a mistake. A good example is Newcastle. They gave Pardue an 8 year contract - he left way before it was up to take control of a team embroilled in a relegation battle...my how the tables turned. Blaming the manager for the administration's problems is always the easy way out. I don't disagree that BR should be put under the microscope, but depending on who you listen to, BR has had one arm tied behind his back with regard to who he has wanted in transfers. He has also had some pretty bad luck with Balotelli mis-firing and Sturridge being injured. Another way to look at this is to say - okay - "Rodgers is to blame"...but before that, it was KD, so the next manager, if he fails, is that not FSG's culpability? At some point, they have to take responsibility.

Well if BR made mistakes then finishing fifth was likely a consequence of those mistakes,finishing above fifth place would guarantee needed funds for cash strapped Pool,besides,Sterling reason for wanting to leave would not exist because he would be playing CL football next season.
I am really trying to understand how one can absolve BR of blame but holda the Pool's fat cats blameworthy.

Rocky Sturridge scored 20 goals and was hoping to score more this year. Imagine if Sturridge had 20 goals this season. A team totally dependent on Suarez and finish 5th this year??? Something tell me it had other players.

Most teams who lost their two top striker in one season is going to struggle. Look Manu never lost one last year and they finished 7th. There is some blame to go around but if people put hands and heart as one then they will get back to where they were. Liverpool also lost Flannigan who was playing lights out for the complete season.
