ELITE PLAYER???.....You consider Raheem Sterling an Elite Player???......So where would you put players like Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez & Neymar???

I think Raheem Sterling is a very good player who has the potential to be an Elite Player, BUT he has a ways to go & needs to be in the right system to help him get to Elite status.......Is Liverpool that team??? I don't know, but he needs to be at a team where he'll be starting & challenged.

Like me many are saying Liverpool is best for his development and been the man in the next 2 to 3 years. He is still young and there will be growing pain. Raheem have no reason to be loyal to Liverpool, he is not from Liverpool.
He and his advisors know is status and that is one of the top 10 young players in European football, anyone of you on here think Raheem is ordinary needs their heads examined. Raheem Stirling is an elite player so I can't see the comparison with Wright Phillips etc. Liverpool has hung the youth out to dry by disclosing details of confidential contract negotiaitons to put pressure on him to sign but it has backfired. It was unwise to try and portarait the player as greedy, Raheem knows what he is worth and knows that almost every elite club in Europe will love to have him. Liverpool is no longer an elite club so for Raheem to fulfill his potential and go on to be one of the worlds best he needs a bigger stage, champions league football is a must.

I don't disagree that the UCL is big deal, but I do think you're pushing it to think he could walk into any big club braps jus so! Regardless, the real issue to me that people forget is that FSG have shown (with Suarez before last season) that if there is time left on the contract, they are not going to be pressured to sell.
