  • Cruff and Ronaldinho Want Henry

    6/14/2007 12:39 PM

Cruyff And Ronaldinho Want Henry Johan Cruyff would be honoured to see Thierry Henry take the number 14 shirt if he joins FC Barcelona over the summer.

The Dutch legend was famous for wearing the number during his time as a player and it is still synonymous with his name at the Catalan giants.

Henry has been strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou and would ask for the number 14 shirt if he were to move and Cruyff believes he would do it justice.

"He has worn that number for many years," the former Barça player and coach said.

"The number 14 is free at Barcelona and I woould be proud that such a good player would come and take my number."

Ronaldinho has added his voice the calls from within the squad for Henry to join Frank Rijkaard's team and said that he would relish playing alongside the elegant Frenchman.

"Any player in the world would like to play with him," the Brazilian superstar stated.

"He is a great player and I think he would adapt really well to the Primera Liga and our team's style of play.

"I personally love to watch him play, he has a lot of speed and he is a player that I have always liked.

"We both like to play one-on-one and surge forward."
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Ronaldinho Quashes Eto'o Problems, Fresh Milan Links Ronaldinho insists his relationship with Samuel Eto'o and the rest of the squad is as good as ever.

With Eto'o insisting he is under no circumstances going to leave the Camp Nou, the focus has shifted back on Ronaldinho, with most believing that both of them will not be staying on.

The Gaucho, however, insists there are no lingering problems, and that he is looking to carry his great understanding with the Cameroon international into the next season.

"I do not have any problems with him," insisted the Brazilian. "I have never had any. It pleases me to play with Eto'o.

"I have always worked very well with him on the field. It is always very easy to play with him and I feel very happy doing so.

"We have never had problems, just misunderstandings.
In the team, there are those who are more explosive and others more calm at the time of talking, but I never have had problems with him. We have a very good friendship.
"We spoke about what happened [in February, when Eto'o publicly hit out against Ronaldinho and Rijkaard].

"He told me exactly what he said, explained why he said it and we have never had a problem since."

"I am lookign to stay here," he assrted clarly. "Atfer a good rest, I want to carry this understanding with him into the new season."

There have, however, been suggestions that Ronaldinho is beginning to drift away from the squad. He did not attend Saturday's 2-2 draw against Espanyol, something that has not pleased some in the Barcelona camp.

The Gaucho has trained very little since, spending more time working in the gym. He insists he is staying put, but with Samuel Eto'o set to stay, Milan are once again looking at him.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
