Larin is officially tied to Canada after their game against El Salvador on Wednesday.
He had a terrible miss in that one however:

Larin modest after tying MLS rookie goal scoring record: "It feels good just to win"
Cyle Larin insisted Orlando City’s win was far more important than him tying the MLS rookie goalscoring record in the Lions’ emphatic 5-2 victory over Columbus Crew.
The No.1 pick in this year’s SuperDraft added two more goals to his rapidly-growing tally to take his season’s haul to 11 and equal the rookie best set by Chicago’s Damani Ralph in 2003.

Larin named MLS Rookie of the Year for 2015
Record-breaking Orlando City forward Cyle Larin has been honored – to little surprise – with the AT&T Rookie of the Year award, Major League Soccer announced on Tuesday.
Larin, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Connecticut, set the rookie record for MLS goals in a single season with 17 tallies, shattering the previous mark of 11 set by Damani Ralph in 2003.

I have to wonder how much the JFF tried to convince Larin to choose Jamaica, if at all.
I think they could have made a very compelling argument when you consider just how much better the ReggaeBoyz record has been compared to Canada's in WC qualification over the past 20 years."Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."
