Wolfsburg had no trouble dismissing third division leaders Arminia Bielefeld 4-0 at Bielefeld today in the German Cup semifinals. After taking a 2-0 lead at halftime, Wolfsburg scored twice in the first ten minutes of the second half.
Yesterday, helped by some of the worst penalty shooting in modern times, Borussia Dortmund prevailed over Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout 2-0 after a 1-1 draw.
Bayern went 0 for 4 in the shootout. Two shots missed the net completely, one was saved, and the fourth hit the crossbar. Dortmund made 2 of 3.
