Soccer Player Attacked Aboard Plane

Oliver Minatel, who plays for the Ottawa Fury of the North American Soccer League, was attacked on a plane by another passenger who tried to strangle him with his headphone cord.

Minatel's teammates subdued the assailant, who was taken into custody at Atlanta when the plane landed. Minatel was not injured.

The Fury was en route to Atlanta to play the Atlanta Silverbacks.
