The consensus seems to be that Rodgers opens his mouth way too much and consistently says the wrong things when he does.
His record on transfers is also clearly more bad than good. Even with those that are half decent there is an opportunity cost (we could have got better for the same money or the same player for less).
His player management is debatable, some players prosper under him, some don't.
For me though, the shocking thing is that anyone is impressed with him tactically. Yes he devises systems that solve problems for a while, but that is borderline strategic rather than tactical anyway. Tactics are the subtle tweaks and changes to a broader strategy to take account of real time issues.
For example, when things were going wrong against United, he could have put Skrtel man on man on Fellaini, brought SG on sooner, brough Lucas on.
There are so many examples of Rodgers not being tactically astute that I can't believe anyone thinks he is.
Rodgers is not a top class manager, never will be. He's mid table, and his continued tenure this summer will say everything about the owners, who are mid table owners too.
