To Italy first and suggestions that Juventus striker Alvaro Morata is high on Manuel Pellegrini’s summer shopping list, with Edin Dzeko moving the other way to sweeten the deal – at least, if a report in the Daily Express is to be believed.
Morata is apparently also wanted by Arsenal while Roma and Inter are said to be chasing Dzeko in a report sourced from Italian and Spanish media.
Writes Joe Short: “City are ready to offload Dzeko this summer, with Roma and Inter both known suitors of the Bosnia international.
“But Juventus believe they can strike a deal over a July sale and, according to reports in Italy, general manager Giuseppe Marotta recently set up a meeting with City staff at a European Club Association conference - where the 29-year-old was discussed.
“Calciomercato claim Dzeko is among Juve’s shortlist of wanted strikers that includes PSG’s Edison Cavani and Manchester United’s on-loan forward Radamel Falcao.
“Spanish newspaper AS claim Manuel Pellegrini’s staff are looking to lock down a deal for Juve's Alvaro Morata, who is also wanted by Arsenal, and that could seal the Dzeko deal.”
