  • The transfer window and realist price for best JA player(s)?

I am always a bit bemused and fatalistic on outlook...i.e. nothing will get done that speaks to long term high earnings after looking at the transfers done in Europe.

    Example:

    Premier League January signings
    Arsenal
Krystian Bielik (£2.4m), Gabriel Paulista (£11.2m)

    Aston Villa
Carles Gil (£3.2m), Scott Sinclair (Loan)

    Burnley
    Michael Keane (Undisclosed)

    Chelsea
    Juan Cuadrado (£23.3m)

    Crystal Palace
Shola Ameobi (Free), Yaya Sanogo (Loan), Pape Souare (Undisclosed), Jordon Mutch (Undisclosed), Lee Chung-yong (Undisclosed), Wilfried Zaha (Undisclosed), Keshi Anderson (Undisclosed), Andreas Breimyr (Undisclosed)

    Everton
    Aaron Lennon (Loan)

    Hull
    Dame N'Doye (Undisclosed)

    Leicester
Robert Huth (Loan), Andrej Kramaric (£9m), Mark Schwarzer (Free)

    Liverpool
    None

    Manchester City
    Wilfried Bony (£28m)

    Manchester United
Sadiq El Fitouri (Undisclosed), Victor Valdes (Free), Andy Kellett (Loan)

    Newcastle
    None

    QPR
    Mauro Zarate (Loan)

    Southampton
Filip Djuricic (Loan), Ryan Bertrand (Undisclosed)

    Stoke
    Philipp Wollscheid (Loan)

    Sunderland
    Jermain Defoe (Undisclosed)

    Swansea
Jack Cork (Undisclosed), Matt Grimes (£1.75m), Kyle Naughton (£5m)

    Tottenham
    Dele Alli (Undisclosed)

    West Brom
Callum McManaman (£4.75m), Darren Fletcher (Free)

    West Ham
    Doneil Henry (Undisclosed)

    ------

When interest comes for a JA player the clubs' leaders, I have always believed, become 'crazy'. The expectations for transfer fee in that market or the MLS tend to be too often unrealistic.

Talent abounds and places for that talent to move into are finite!
How does our players stack up against those being bought for less than $100, 000 dollars? ...free transfers? ...and it must be...should be in the minds of our local club leaders that the possibility of finding 'newly discovered players' and out of contract players across Europe's huge markets suggest over abundance of desired quality players?

...what afflicts our local clubs' leaders that suggests a huge fee for a local is on the cards on first sale?

Transfermarkt.de lists the estimated transfer price of some members of the
    Reggae Boyz.

Daniel Gordon is listed on Karlsruhe's roster at 750,000 euros, but there will be a change to all Bundesliga 2 values coming soon. Karlsruhe has a total transfer value of 16 million euros, middle of the pack for Bundesliga 2.

Daniel scored twice during Karlsruhe's midseaon training camp in Spain, one against Swiss leader FC Basel (2-2), and one against big time Bundesliga club Freiburg (5-0). For both goals, Daniel headed in a corner kick.

Karlsruhe reportedly refused an offer of 3 million euros from a Middle Eastern club for attacking midfielder Hiroki Yamada, who has a few caps for Japan. He is listed at 1.5 million euros.

Bundesliga 2 resumes this weekend after the winter break. Karlsruhe is in second place in Bundesliga 2, tied with two other teams on points but ahead on goal difference. Ingolstadt in first place with a seven-point lead.

Karl, have you ever seen a free agent based locally? It seems to me Jamaican players haven't got a voice. Either that or they do not understand the football market. Too many of them are naive and just let the clubs use them and dictate to them.
I could easily find you a hundred free agent of better quality than any player we have on the Island without even looking too hard. It is about time our players wake up and smell the coffee.

Below is a list of quality players who are free or in the last 6 months of contract:-

Future Stars: Three young Dutchmen in Manchester. Kongolo, Dilrosun and Fosu Mensah

Posted by Michael Bell on February 5th, 2015 06:39 PM | Future Stars

Netherlands academies are seen as some of the best in world football, but sometimes young talent are snatched by big clubs before they can break into the first team. Michael Bell looks at Timothy Fosu Mensah, Rodney Kongolo and Javairo Dilrosun who all swapped Netherlands for Manchester.

Daley Blind wasn’t the only Ajax player that joined Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford during the summer, as Manchester also poached young defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Amsterdam on deadline day for a fee of around £300,000. The United scouts were impressed by Fosu-Mensah at the Aegon tournament in April and wasted no time in snapping him up despite competition from Inter Milan.

The now 17-year-old is a versatile, and technically excellent player capable of playing across the back-line or even in defensive midfield. Tall, strong, good on the ball and possessing blistering pace Fosu-Mensah has made a eye-catching start to his career for the Manchester club’s U18’s and has the potential to break into the first team in a few years.
