Arsenal would have been better served if both remained and Walcott had gone on loan."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

I can see where you would not answer but your reason smacks of being disingenuous ... Why a false choice when you are prepared to Dress it in terms of Walcott? Disappointed but not surprised.

As currently used by Wenger - Podolski is not even 75% of his effectiveness. Sanchez is 90+% of his... i.e. deliberately underutilizing of Podolski while using Sanchez at optimum rate - then obviously Podolski as Wenger has done.
The flip side is in context of if the GUNNERS has all players at full effectiveness...
...then if the choice is one must go then it would be Sanchez. The thinking would that there would be greater balance to the TEAM...as Podolski would dwell on the ball less, *make better passes more consistently=greater %age passing accuracy and is pure goal-scorer (score tons more goals than Sanchez). In that TEAM with greater balance there would be created more goal-scoring chances than even that currently being created.
The downside would be loss of the enhanced defensive efforts Sanchez brings. ...so it is greater balance, greater possession=greater TEAM defensive, greater number of chances, more goals = greater more efficient attack vs not as good balance, more losing of the ball=less possession=less TEAM defense, less scoring opportunities.
*Have not checked going with "mind's eye" - Passing %age: Podolski 80+% ...perhaps 85+%; Sanchez in the 75%age range!"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

75% sure that would be his choice if Podoski is at 100% and Sanchez is adding 60% defensive work- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

Where is our problem as far as it regards forwards?
The scoring of goals!
2013/14 season at this stage - Without Sanchez we were battling for the title.
I think at this time of last season we were 1st or 2nd. ...and in with a good shot at the title.
Where did we go wrong last season?
Away matches playing wide open football.
So forward was not the problem...it was midfield and defense. Sanchez has not made us better! Has he?
...my assessment says, we are a poorer TEAM. If we are, then the problems could also be related to injuries and defensive woes? However I think last season we also had more than our fair share of injuries...and defensive woes. Would it not appear on the surface that Sanchez for all he brings on effort...the TEAM is worse off than previously? If so...what then????
Look? ...I am not the coach of my GUNNERS!
...and the teacher/coach and I differ on use of Podolski and teaching of Sanchez.
Different types!
Podolski is pure goal-scorer!!! His stats says that!!!
Physically we see his acts and observe that he is a pure goal-scorer!!!
Sanchez is ball hog!
His minutes and touches per game say that!!!
...his passing %age is for top player, not good enough!
Some fans cannot see that that is directly related to his thinking that he too often must beat before passing...and it is the time spent on beating attempts that lowers his success rate on passing. *He too often loses the ball, DIRECTLY...or gives time to the opponents' defense to set-up on defense! ...i.e. close his passing lanes or close him down (thus demanding another beat=pop) or upset his passing rhythm.
It is difficult for the run-of-the-mill fan to appreciate difference between 'what is' and 'what could possible be done'. That forward thinking on 'best alternative' is too often a path never seen by the 'run-of-the-mill fan'!
Abstract concepts...for example, never having seen a FIFA transfer certification process or the forms that go with it yet being able to guide someone half-way around the world through same.
It is not easy for someone who cannot grasp abstract concepts...e.g. the matter of intrusiveness of present defense systems and what future systems would be like. Then some may see...but have a problem grasping implications and thus scream about having privacy while expecting to enjoy the increasing sophisticated gadgets being introduced and live in the increasing complex interconnected world.
It is understandable why some fans cannot grasp that it is lack of vision=ability to 'look into/see the future'/see what is possible by our JFF leaders that is direct link to those JFF leaders inability to implement a Football Youth Development System within the constraints of our JA reality. Those fans cannot grasp abstract concepts. They cannot make the link with systems or lack thereof and results gained.
Some fans cannot look at their TEAM and see what is possible! It is beyond them! That is, fact!
*Hey??? ...simple things escape some fans!!!!
Too often does not equal all the time!
If I coached Sanchez, I would be trying to have him beat less...without destroying his gift for instinctive 'pop' and attacking flair and effectiveness even while improving his %age pass success rate. Yup!...and also be trying to improve his kicking/passing technique!!! ...encouraging retention of his boundless energy and wonderful defensive abilities.
It would not be Sanchez or Podolski I would be sending...away... ...but then you know that!!!!Last edited by Karl; January 13, 2015, 04:00 PM."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
