  • U-20 tournament - in JA : Opponents load up on US talent

When the USA begins play at the Concacaf Under-20 Championship in Jamaica, it will go up against a lot of familiar faces. As many as nine of the other 11 teams in the tournament will have players born or bred in the United States or playing for MLS clubs or U.S. college teams.

This should be an interesting competition.

Hope Jamaica receives the large fan turn out and support as usual.....

The minimum expectation is that Jamaica is among the 4 teams that qualify.

This championship will be telecasted...yes King Karl?

JAMAICA. The hosts included four U.S.-bred players when they traveled to Venezuela in December for a pre-tournament training camp. The squad included goalkeeper Nicholas Nelson (Georgia United), defender Ryan Miller (Philadelphia Union Academy) and Luca Levee (Global Premier Soccer) as well as forward Khallil Stewart, who played for Concorde Fire before enrolling at George Washington. D.C. United's Michael Seaton is expected to join Jamaica's U-20s for qualifying.
Hmm. Now what ever happened to that crazy poster who always used to make bogus claims about the USA stealing Jamaican talent?
"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."

I can think of only 2 Jamaicans that have represented the U.S. - Robin Fraser & Jeff Cunningham. Are there others???

Again where is all the noise monger. The US college system/PDL is always a part of the mix and will continue to be in the long term.

Again I will say, it maybe not for all the top ballers who have opportunities elsewhere but no need to have good players giving up their career when they can get in the mix.

I see 2 Georgia based players on the Jamaican team, those are two good clubs.

How does Jamaica steal the US talent when they are born Jamaican citizens????
