Jamaica or Japan? Mushashi Suzuki must decide
Twenty-year-old striker Musashi Suzuki has a big decision to make in a couple of months from now as he turns 21 in February of 2015 will have to decide which country he will represent at the senior level.
He must decide between Jamaica or Japan.
Suzuki was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 1994 to a Jamaican father and a Japanese mother. When he was 10 years old, he left the island to live in Japan with his mother.
Suzuki made his mark in the Japanese School Boys League and was selected to represent the Japan U-17 team at the U-17 World Cup in 2011 in Mexico where he played against Jamaica, earning a 1-0 win. The team eventually made it to the round of 16.
Having only played at age-group level, Suzuki had a chance of representing his country of birth. According to FIFA regulations, he remains eligible to play for Jamaica until he earns a cap for the national senior team.
