Coached season year only. JV and Senior team - Not bad!
...never won any titles. ...but won a few games.
TEAM - St Andrew's Episcopal Academy, http://www.staacademy.org/
Adult in Jamaica.
Major League - 1 competitive game v HVFC at Compound, HV.
0 - 0 Draw. game
Pre-season won all matches save against Port Morant United (team with Lataphy and Lewison of T'dad). Their TEAM coached by Allan "Skill" Cole, was arguably very top TEAM in Jamaica at the time - Lost 1 - 0 on the Vauxhall grounds.
One season with Mico - Inter-collegiate football - Won a few games. Did not win a trophy.
The teachers have never taken the playing of games seriously. Few practices and often members of the team were rotated as "Teaching practice" preparations and other activities interfered.
The student-teachers were serious about learning the game from the viewpoint of being able to gain in-depth knowledge on coaching/teaching the game. As member of the Department of Physical Education lectured on various areas of same.
So my involvement in teaching the game had two different teaching components - a) Preparing TEAM for competition; b) As academic subject. Improving knowledge and teaching skills of student-teachers.
Aside: Quality of play in JA very low. ...any half-decent teacher/coach - person with true knowledge of the game - should be able to in 2 years take any of the National League teams and transform same into top JA club competitive team in a season with the club taking its place among the top teams in the second season. There is not much on TEAM quality to surpass. ...at lower levels similar situation holds true i.e. transforming even the worse of TEAMs into top contender in a season as the quality in each of the leagues is awful=ignorant of the game anti-TEAM quality.
What were the aims behind your teaching/coaching of the game?
How about the quality of play in and at the level you taught?
