LAST 3 COLUMNS ... LEFT TO RIGHT ... APPEARANCES GOALS ASSISTS.
sass says, a player of that calibre does not drastically change.
pre-concevied notions leads one into reading things that are not there and so i FULLY ENDORSE your statement. i wonder if you do though!
Look a player can play *the ass for 80 minutes of a game and score 3 times! You can decide if that means he played well.
*One does not have to even go into what that player could have caused his TEAM during those awful 80 minutes or even if his TEAM won or lost the match to draw the conclusions. ...and what if that majority of play during his matches is how he has been consistently performing?
Majority playing of 'nonsense' or even consistently engaging in 'nonsense' for minority of playing time but doing so in areas of the field of play that frequently hurt TEAM is, to put it mildly is, not good.
TH14 was engaging in nonsense during games in his final 2 years at my GUNNERS at a rate that was, not good! Knowing his previous quality...I saw a disinterested and or selfish player not fully focused on TEAM goals. It was time for him to part ways with my GUNNERS!!!!
I fear on judging player performance in matches your decisions on quality of play of a player may be colored by whether or not the TEAM won, drew or lost? May I suggest that you isolate player performance from TEAM results and limit same to the players' accomplishment over the course of time on the field!!!"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
