You know Liverpool has really lost their way and are totally lost when they come back to their worst player last year as the key to a new direction.

Kolo Toure was one of the key reasons for Pool losing the title last year, two of his most basic lack of concentration efforts led to goals and wins for the other team. Pool had a simple job this year outside of replacing Suarez.

1. Get a good replacement for Toure- failed and worse they keep Toure and now he is seen as a potential savior, unbelievable, as them say in jamaica you pick and pick until you pick pure foolishness. - failed there.
2. Replace Mignolet, get a real shots topper this guy let in goals like crazy, does not position well. - failed there.
3. Gerard has shown definitive weaknesses in his game, he cannot be the last mid, he is too slow and just has lost a step in every facet, he is still valuable so the task was to get a young, aggressive ball hawk to play with him like a carvalho, Henderson is not a dm option, he is a nice attacker but not sure he even makes the field if I am picking the team - another failure, they get mere can but will not give him enough time to play.
4. Finally the pool manager has failed to commit to his core warriors, changing the lineup ad infinitum thus has obtained no traction in developing his team. The best trade was for Lallana a very good player but he cannot commit to make this guy consistently play with Sterling, lallana is a good attacking player.

Lambert should have been upfront from day one along with Mario or rotating ,Gerrad should be coming off the bench as a attacking force ,Lucas and Can should be anchoring the defensive midfield.

Structurally broken, that lies on the head of one man,blaming anyone or singling out one man when we have such a structural problem to me is crude.

We havent even touched on the required formation.

Sterling and LLana to me would be key because of their flexibility as forwards or attacking midfielders,more so Sterling.

This fiasco is an indicment against dis bredda , all this is common sense.He lost it when he gauranteed Gerrad a starting positiion ,from when he sold Aquallani,he did the same to Lucas until this last game ,maybe its the begining of change.

Overconfidence and too much money can make you forget core goals, that is what happened here, combined with a coach who puts his faith in the attack even with clear indicators that their defense was not epl top flight class still led them away from doing the most important things.

Getting Carvalho will be good, give Can some competition, they are both so young and talented that the upside there is immense. Coach needs to commit to a starting eleven and just run them out and get some consistency and chemistry, nobody breaks the starting roster unless they are just about obliterating the entry door.

He focus on attack last season, yes. You can't discount the fact that he has lost 50 goals between Sturridge and Suarez. Suarez was expected to leave but Sturridge? Let us hope for pool sake he comes back soon. If Sturridge was there they would have grinded out a few more victories. The strikers bought have been a disappointment so far, maybe one will hit some form.
