  • Assasin and HL!!! Are you familiar with the

    Georgia United academy team???
Just saw a U.S. U16 team, going to France in 2 weeks, with 3 players from Georgia United & was wondering how good are they, and is this where Paul Young coaches???

No USAF, not familiar at all.

Would love to get crazy about a local team, but I guess i will wait until Atlanta gets it's expansion MLS tea.

I would not be surprised though. I am impressed by the levels of organization in soccer development in my area.

yeah they are the Elite Academy club in GA. Again I tell you guys that Georgia is very motivated when it comes to soccer from 6 years old up to 18. You have a lot of good academy youth teams including the one Paul Young is with. If you notice it is an association made up of a few clubs.

Kids have on or two games every weekend or tournaments and you have to drive up to 60 miles for U-8 to U10. When they are U12 you may have to travel up to 5 hours.

      Paul Young is with.
      http://www.unitedfa.org/Default.aspx?tabid=226249 I think he coaches U13.

You can support your old team, Red Bulls, until the ATL team starts play . They're having a good MLS Cup playoff/post season so far.....In the 1st round, they knocked out Sporting KC (defending champions) & they beat DC United 2 - 0 in the 1st leg of the 2nd round.

        * Reported that your player, Altidore, could be with Lille by the next transfer window.

OK!!!....There's a U.S. youth player, Dembakwi Yomba (18), that played with the Chiefs FC & Concorde Fire academies and is now at Atletico Madrid......Looks like they doing a good job in Georgia. California, look out.

I watched Altidore last night (came on in the 2nd half) against Crystal Palace. Still lumbering along.

I just don't know why I have not fully gotten over the RedBull name.....

I guess this should be Henry's last season. He is several steps slower than his normal self.

Yeah Concorde fire have a good program too. We played them a few weeks ago in the U9 Boys. There are a lot of programs around the ATL.

Do you coach or you just take on the soccer-dad role???

I coached my sons recreation teams for a year and a half. When they move to U8 Pre Academy I stopped. It was hard as they play for two different teams and sometimes different fields and different times. The coaches are pretty good at their Academy. Now they are with U9s. My big kid is playing in the top team and my seven year old is playing in the third team but he could make the second team. I couldn't coach if I wanted as I have to drive them to different fields at different times of the day as my wife works on weekends most of the time. They have two A license coaches working with them so I am pretty satisfied. On our team we have at least 10 parents who are current coaches or played the game at college level. I will only coach them on things like shooting, heading, using left foot, a move or two as they know more than I do. I also coach a 3v3 tournament games for fun.

Paul Young now coaching kids? That's quite a switch from his previous career!
