  • Gunners!

The Premier League is an interesting beast this season. Despite it being blindingly obvious that they're struggling for form, Arsenal sit fifth in the table, just three points behind Man City, and ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Some of that, of course, is down to the problems other teams have. Only Chelsea can really say they've performed to their expected level in the opening nine games of this campaign, but even they fell foul of a late goal, dropping two points at Old Trafford on Sunday.

It topped off a good weekend for the Gunners. Not only did the gap on Chelsea close, all the teams around them -- those likely to be rivals for the top four -- dropped points. Liverpool could only draw with Hull (Arsenal know how that goes!); Man City were beaten by West Ham; and Spurs were beaten at home by a Newcastle side getting only their second league win of the season.

Arsenal produce an Infographic that shows club in decline

So Dunny what defense do you have for this critical factoid....

Actually it's not..I just want the team and Manager to

be more tactical...stop sub at a fixed point and use the players better.
I have seen games where substitution were required and the Manager wait until a fixed time frame. Plus I don't feel as the English press now does that Wilshere can carry the team as the starting number 10....

            That is fact!
...however, Ramsey also needs to pull up his socks...particularly in the area of releasing the ball earlier!

IMHO he has to be less guilty than wilshere (assuming that what you say is true) and so he gets my nod ahead of wilshere. question to you if not ramsay or wilshere, then who plays that position in your opinion?

just a name will suffice. thanks.

Let me repeat - All my assessment of players and TEAMs are with conscious and sub-conscious images of TOP OF THE WORLD players and teams in mind.

                Ramsey it is!
                ...but if not?

Our best bet is Flamini. That tells a lot about our TEAM. There just has not been a player in...or even near the class of Csec Fabregas.

We need a TEAM with 10 outfielders willing to attack and defend as needed during an entire game. ...and these must always be acting on getting the ball to best placed man or best place (period!) for TEAM/to satisfy TEAM goals. Cesc played such a game. Mertesacker plays such a game. ...of the rest some more than others but they all have great deficit on playing of TEAM. I would think in the top 4 for those who play TEAM would be Podolski.

Podolski does not fool around with the ball...always trying to do what is best for the TEAM with the ball. - For Podolski it is always passing to best placed man or on goal!!!

Sanchez is an enigma. He works super hard. ...but many are the times he should pass when he does not. It also means that he often gives away possession. His work-rate and acts take him all over the field and it means that with his making of many poor decisions on passing he has and he shall too frequently lose the ball in places on the field where it presents great danger.

That poor decision-making on when to pass has to be weighed against his obvious pluses. Wenger's job as teacher with this lot appears to be 'the toughest teaching job' he has had since TH14 left.

Players who go to sleep on the ball -
                - Sanchez

                - Wilshire

                - Ramsey

                - Cazorla

                - Alex Oxlade Chamberlain

                - Arteta

                - Flamini

                - Olivier Giroud (...obviously previous to his injury. Have not a clue what he will do when he returns).

                - Joel Campbell (in his cameos)

...Yaya Sanogo has been just plain slow of thought and consequently action resulting in bad passes or being bundled over or off bundled off the ball=caught in possession. Good movement and great work-rate but...'slow in head'.

                Yup! ...tough class to teach!!!
                Come on, Teacher Wenger!

Can there be something called a "dysfunctional team" in Soccer?

                          It is an oxymoron!
...but it speaks to a picture=the (one's) thought of what should otherwise be considered "real" team.

LOL???So Dysfunctional team is still a team? so how does a dysfunctional team beat a "real" team??? I am talking one(Real team) with cohesion and unity?

The fact whether it is dysfunctional or "real team" as you put it, it is a TEAM.
