Japan tops Jamaica for first victory under Aguirre

Javier Aguirre won his first game as Japan manager but in a less than impressive 1-0 victory over Jamaica in a friendly on Friday.

Wasteful Japan was comfortably the better side but only reached the scoreboard through an early Nyron Nosworthy own goal on a chilly evening at the Big Swan.

In his first two games in charge last month, Aguirre had lost 2-0 to Uruguay and drew 2-2 with Venezuela. The Asian champions depart on Saturday for Singapore, where they will play Brazil on Tuesday.

      Reading of your post:
Japan was by far the superior TEAM!

Since we first became highly interested in Japan's style of play in World Cup '98 the TEAM Japan has been woeful in front of goal. ...so it was once again.

Other posts suggest that our Reggae Boyz were poor on technical skill, tactics and just plain the playing of football.

I wonder how you could explain your promotion of the solution to our poor quality of footballers - Youth through National Senior TEAMs - your strident calls for Academy only condiut for development of our footballers?

How do you link your comments on Academy only development of players and the quality of our footballers being abject poor with the teachers who have taught them that poor method of playing?
