So why the young English players fail??

There are many reasons why some young US player fails. Look at Freddie Adu, The youth who was at Manu Academy, and other young players who we thought was going to be stars and were placed in Generation 2K or at Academies.

A competitive environment helps and MLS academies will help. The love of the game helps and that is why the local clubs and academies for young kids 8-12 is so important, that is even before the MLS academies. Anytime whether US soccer, MLS, or College invest 1/10 of what is spent in college football and develop regional competition and you have fierce rivalry in youth soccer is when the overall product will go sky high.

Overall it is going up, one of the problem is after 17 year old, how many of these academy players make a roster in the MLS??? or with a pro team? You need more competition of quality. How many kids from states without MLS teams can pick up and move to MLS clubs if they are not within a 30 miles radius?

It is the smartest who have the best chance of advancing to the top of the game. ...and on considering there are many smart kids - TALENT on 'smarts' also abound - then having the right environment inclusive of good teachers who nurture and encourage development is IT!

Very, very good players are floating around outside of the professional leagues and many, many, many...shall never make it! ...so think on our little Jamaica and current chance of our talented making it? ...then think on supplying them with 'good teachers' from the earliest of ages!!! The very least we should do is, provide the environment...and vastly improved environment from what presently holds in JA! hey...we have before us the results of what currently exists! We know what is being proposed on the academy front! ...it is obvious that cannot be IT for our young talents!!!!
