Phenomenal news, can we get a little stats with that, how hard would it be to get a RedStripe stats table at the end of each weeks competition chock full of stats like assists, shots taken, shots on target, clean sheets, goals scored etc etc These are things that the players can look at and see where they stand against the other top players, we keep no stats on assists and we clearly are able to identify excellent players like DiMaria and Ozil who are very high assist producers and also instrumental in getting their teams in a position to win major titles, which incidentally is exactly the kind of player we have been missing for the last how many years, with only Andy Williams being the only yard player to consistently play and provide assists in a major way in a midfield role in a professional league. From a longevity standpoint and a productive standpoint he is the best midfielder we have produced in the last forty years.

Tracking assists will expose a major asset of some of our players that us currently hidden, such as defenders that are also good passers that result in them consistently creating goal opportunities, we can't really talk to that now, or a striker that not only scores but also creates well like Suarez, we have no clue who that is within the top goal scorers in rspl, because....... We don't track that.

What good is all this investment if we don't do the little infrastructure things right, if we can put in good measurement and benchmarking systems that can be applied across all ages then we are wasting our time.

      Read this: Stats Tracking

Very nice, we don't even need as much detail as that as the cost for nth level of detail at some point outweighs the benefit of the detail, but we certainly could focus us in on key stats and just track and report on those most important ones continually.

Who's gonna do it? There may be an opportunity for someone to offer a similar service as described in that article. As you said, it doesn't have to be as sophisticated but enough bare bones data on each player... touches, passes attempted, % passes completed, assists etc.

The green will bring about black only if we get lots of golds (goals) at the matches. We need stars in our league. Tuffy alone can't do it.
