The game today given the injury problems primarily with key players(the upgrades and veterans) will determine two things;if our coach will distinguish himself from Moyes and if the didgraceful record of last season can be attributed to having a squad of at best average players.
His preferred formation was as ge stated addressing a void,the root problem has to be fixed.Giving RvP an extended leave of absence is troubling,the ace striker too must prove himself to figure.
Regarding the new acquisitions I think he is spot on in identifying the problem areas.Rojos,Shaw,and Herrera are needed additions.
I particularly like how he is able influence the game of made players(Rooney's comes to mind).
The game is a test of LvG 's coaching abilities.
If Man U does not score at least three goals today,despite playing against a worthy opponent,I will be very disappointed.

So what conclusion would you come to if LvG has a season that's only marginally better than Moyes's? (Keep in mind, this is your most expensive transfer window EVER!).

I think his decision to field three defenders is the problem,that implies a deficiency in our two main defenders,and it comes at the expense of another position(wingback)where the duties would have been clearly defined.
I have no idea how we had such a succesful tour under the same dynamics.
LvP seems to be firmly in command of his players,and has identified weak links for the most part(Jones somehow continues to figure).
Easy start to the season and yet we are clearly having problems.

Rocky, tour games results are to be taken with a grain of salt. You shoukd not read too much into those resuts, as for the most partsome teams are just trying to figure out their game. Hey, you have teams making 6 or 7 changes in a game, that should tell you something.
