Winnie was at the German Bundesliga 2 match Karlsruhe vs. FSV Frankfurt. He was shown on TV, sitting on the sideline next to the Karlsruhe execs.
Presumably, he was there to check on Daniel Gordon, who was on the bench as a substitute and not in the lineup. Daniel and his wife Lisa, had a baby boy during the off-season.
Karlsruhe won the game 3-2. Karlsruhe has four points from its first two matches.
Before you conspiracy theorists get out of control, Karlsuhe coach Marcus Kaucznski is in his third year and under contract through June 2017. He led Karlsruhe to the Liga 3 championship and a promotion (return) to Bundesliga 2 two years ago. Last year, Karlsruhe finished fifth in Bundesliga 2.
