Arsenal could be offered the chance to sign Sami Khedira on the cheap as Real Madrid are believed to be looking to sell the midfielder sooner rather than later in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
The World Cup winner is entering the final year of his five-year contract he signed in 2010 when he joined the Spanish club, and with manager Carlo Ancelotti preferring the combination of Xabi Alonso and Luka Modric in the centre of the park, Khedira looks to be on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeu.
With Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez already joining Ancelotti’s side this summer, the number of first team chances Khedira would receive appears to be even less than his 13 La Liga appearances last season.
The Gunners have been linked with a £24m move for the Germany international, and with Chelsea appearing to be done and dusted with their summer business, the Emirates seems to be the most likely destination for the 27-year-old should he leave the Champions League winners.
