I was about to say that he couldn't have sold him somewhere else if the player didn't want to go...so true, Wenger couldn't have done much more but it still should not have happened. Wenger waited too long to get RVP to the table.

That is the crux of the matter PM, Arsenal were a bit naive to let his contract run down, however we have to remember that RVP had a woeful injury record where he picked up injury after injury so Arsenal did not want to commit too soon.
