One foot balla...Rodgers to answer your question. He has been valuable today mostly because of his defensive play, but he set up Robben on that play that was thwarted by fellow Liverpool alumnus Mascherano...who has been MASSIVE for Argentina.

He made some good passes, but his lack of a left foot made everything he did predictable when playing on the left wing. It was ridiculous. He would have space to exploit behind the defense wide open in front of him but wouldn't make the runs because he has no left. It is remarkable that a player can go so high in the sport and not have a left foot. His value yesterday was primarily defensive. He did a good job of getting the ball back when Argentina had it...but he needed to play more centrally.

He did well defensively. Yeah he turned back a little too much but seems like an option as a defensive player. He doesn't lose shape and is not easily beaten down the wing. As for Van Persie, he hasn't impressed in the last two games. Robben had a hard time yesterday.

The Netherlands needed another player who could take some pressure off Robben and they don't have that.

Messi, Robben and Maradona don't have right foot(s).

True, but Kuyt's problem is that he doesn't have their skill, speed or confidence to over come the deficit. All of them can at least use these other talents to exploit any space you give them.

Now that was a bit harsh! U too wickid. He is good, but not very good. As Jangle says, he is a work horse. LVG used him inappropriately to my way of thinking...I would have put him on the right wing or in the center.

                          Robben also slowed down!
He never ran at nor ran by anyone...neither did he try to run at or by anyone as frequently as he did in earlier matches. The very, very, very, very....few times he ran at an opponent clearly showed he was not himself. Tired=heavy feet after the previous marathon and his even earlier 'energizer bunny' performances=just out of gas?

I would field him as a wingback.

or is it that the Argentina defense never gave him the chance?
