      Karl, your examples have demonstrated to me that players have managed to get around the system. Yes, Adu's mother (does he have a father?) could move to the UK, but not just to facilitate Freddy's career. In your example above, the parents moved when the child was 17 months old. Surely, they did not know that he was going to be a footballer and one in need of a Euro contract at that time!

      And remember, in the case of the UK, I think it would be quite strange for the British Home Office to grant a work permit to Adu's mom unless she's bringing some skill that was sought after by the UK labour market.

      In Adu's case, better him just wait. In a year or two we will know if he is good enuff for ManU or any other side in Europe.
