But the US was clinical in finishing.... they got 2 good looks and scored 2 good goals

Not impressed with Ghana. Typical African team, nuff skill but their team is much less than the sum of its parts. Ivory Coast same thing.

They played well. The finishing was poor!
They created umpteen chances...but for poor finishing it could have been about 6.

The advanced well into the final third...created approximately 4 chances...relatively easy chances...forward of the USA's penalty-area. ...and at least 2 easy heading chances on or about the penalty-area.

They did the job on technical ability (minus finishing) and tactically. Far, far superior to the USA on movement and passing/passing and movement...and pace...and created 'a bag' of chances. Should have won comfortably.

I would think %age pass competition would be waaay above the USA!!!

So they did not play well! If you suck at finishing and have an at best average defense you are going to lose! Again and again to so-called inferior teams!

All Ivory Coast needs are clinical finishers,Ghana's problem is much greater.
Ghana players are not necessarily skillful,they are athletically inclined.A clinical striker needs to be serviced.
This Ghana team lacks discipline unlike Ivory Coast.

It all went downhill for the US once Dempsley scored,the athleticism of Ghana proved too much...
At the end of the day,the team with the most goals wins but there are glaring cracks....

Does it mean if each met our REGGAE BOYZ in a 'one-off game' each could not lose? Absolutely not!

...and it would be someone ignorant to passing judgment on quality of play who because of such a 'one-off loss', then would claim the REGGAE BOYZ a better TEAM.
