X - Liverpool have used Gerrard and Henderson in exactly the same way many times this season. The problem England had - imo - is that they did not harass Pirlo, I don't even think he was fouled once. Once he was allowed to get his rhythm Italy was comfortable. With respect to Gerrard, he did not have a good game, he did not impose himself on the game at all - whether that was down to instructions or his own play I don't know, but it was disappointing. He was also noticeably slow. England if they play like this can beat anybody, but they have to be more physical; they also need a big target up front...like Heskey or dare I say CarrollOriginally posted by X View Post

Hodgson is a joke. He just set up Rooney for failure and exposed him to media fire.

I still can't understand why you guys back Barkley making the field over lallana, Barkley has done squat/nada/zilch guys like Lilliana are very hard to find, not only is he skilled but he also is filled with wizzie as well. He scored nine goals with six assists on a team that went from 14th to 8th in the epl and he was the captain of the team, the real thing is staring them in the face and they pick the youth that is the bruckie boo with no results, this is the reason england struggles, they get infatuated with one dimension of a player and it us off to the races, very jamaicanish actually.Comment

Hodgson's mistake was to put Sterling on right wing in 2nd half to accomodate Rooney centrally.
He needed to keep Raheem central running the Ity centrebacks ragged!!!!
Instead him put him on the dug up pitch right side....
