Powell Resigns From MBUFC - RSPL Champion Club's President Disenchanted With Football Governance

    WESTERN BUREAU:

After presiding over the biggest moment of Montego Bay United Football Club's (MBUFC) short, rebranded history in winning the 2013-14 Red Stripe Premier League title in the most commanding fashion, club president, Orville Powell, has decided to leave the post in June, citing the "lack of forward-thinkers" associated with football at the governance level.

"When there is a lack of policy, little adherence to defined standards, lack of forward-thinkers or forward-planning to determine the best relationships for sponsorships, transparency and accountability, it speaks to poor management, it speaks to madness, and I refuse to be aligned with that and have decide to demit office as of June," Powell declared.

Sounds like a political statement against Burrell and Seaga.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

"Too many times already I have spoken out, written to and about the governing bodies — be it the local MPs, the Parish Council, Chamber of Commerce, PFAJ, JFF and PLCA — about their mediocre approach to the players' lives. This is what it's about, the players' lives and that of their families which I happen to take seriously.

"I'm tired of writing and wasting time for words to fall on deaf ears... so my decision is to leave, to leave the madness of doing things the same way time and time again with the hope that it will change," Powell said in a written statement that was handed out to the media.
