  • The reason...last year I think it was...I suggested Messi is

    not a good teaching tool.

‘It’s rare for Roy to be critical of a player, as he was after the Ecuador game. He talked about Ross giving the ball away, but Messi gives the ball away. Statistically he gives it away more than any other player in Spain, because he’s always trying something, trying to make it happen. Ross wants to run with the ball. Let him run with the ball. I hope he gets a chance.’

I think Messi is now twice the player he was then. He is more of a TEAM man and I think that is why he may just 'explode' at the World Cup. The World Cup is where the highest level football is played and each player needs to make best of decisions (...be smartest!) continuously as failure to do so guarantees an early trip home in this tournament when percentage likelihood of having a prolonged stay is already low.

Lifting the trophy: We shall see how smart Messi is (...and also Neymar and Robbens are...). The heights to which they can drive use of commonsense shall determine if one of these guys' TEAM or the disciplined, strong, equally technically competent unit that the Germans have, lifts that trophy.

Dark horses are the youthful strong, fast...and yes, among the top technical TEAMs Belgium plus the Ivory Coast and England (Yup! England).

Belgium looks good against Tunisia but can't buy a goal... yet 76 mins. gone and 0-0 still. That must worry the coach.
The #17 player looks very good. Didn't catch the name.
