  • Dunny, UK's Libel Laws

Dunny, what can you say about the libel laws in the UK? It seems that the newspapers in England get away with making up a story and printing it with impunity. The other day, The Daily Mail ran a story that they interviewed Paul Pogba about his time at Old Trafford. In the report they stated that Pogba said that it was the worse time in his life. Pogba then took to Twitter to refute the report.

"What a fake! The Dailymail (sic) website has falsely attributed words to Paul that are causing social media reaction. Paul wishes to say he has never been interviewed by the Dailymail (sic), Sportsmail or Mr David Kent, who he is happy to have never met. Paul reserves the right to take all appropriate legal actions.—The Pogfamily"

The libel laws are no different than say the USA. Legal action can be taken if Mr Pogba wish to

The libel laws are VERY different in the US than the UK. It is MUCH harder to sue successfully for libel in the US.
